“Goal and objective met! Great coaching drives great results!” — Scott S, Seattle (1 hr PR at IMC)
“In ironman there’s no guarantee you finish and certainly none you hit your goal. Little did i know I was working with a secret weapon in Seattle that had me situated for as good a race day as I could have hoped. At mile 16 or so I was hurting so i just told myself – find your forever pace – find that slow but can keep it going pace and I did. There were many tough moments – my family [was worried]. but they did not know about Seattle and the way you prepared me, when doubt crept in I just said, Shannon prepared you for this, it hurts, but your body can handle – I did not cramp at all, which for me is amazing. Thanks again Shannon – for everything – you are wonderful at what you do.” — Scott in NJ (Ironman NYC)
“This is Chrissy, Scott’s wife. I just wanted to send you a note to thank you for all your support and guidance over the past year. It gave me so much peace, especially during the race, to know that Scott had been trained by you for this tremendous undertaking. You really prepared him and set him up to achieve his goal. It was obvious to both of us that you sincerely care about him and the outcome of his race. I don’t think he could have done it without you. I can’t thank you enough for all you did for him. You really are a very special person, and we were blessed to have met you.'” — Chrissie
“I’m faster and stronger than I was in my 20s and it amazes me. All thanks to you!” — Stacy (3:11 Boston Marathon)
“Well I did the best I ever have thanks to YOU!!! I have done the Seattle 1/2 marathlon before and consistantly did 3 hours 25min and only could run 4 miles total. Today I ran and finished 45 minutes faster then before….it went by really fast. Thank you for all your encouragment.” — Kelly J
“I never really got a chance to Thank You and tell you how much I appreciated your help when I was training for the FBI. I got something [even] more valuable from the experience… The opportunity to really work with you. I lost weight but it wasn’t the weight loss that was the best gift. It was the realization I can lose it. It is not hopeless. I had lost the belief that I could change my body/health/fitness level. I just wanted to take the time again to say Thank You!!! ” — Janet
“I started my fitness and lifestyle journey back in July 2014. Shannon came as a referral from a tennis friend at Bellevue Club who continues as one of her clients to this day. We kicked things off by describing my goals going in and my dietary challenges recently being diagnosed as Type 2 Diabetic.
With a plan in place to meet twice a week, we embarked on a trainer, but more friend / fitness partnership. Shannon has a keen sense of your physical limitations in every session. At first I was a bit shocked that she just knew when I was on or off that day. She’s sincerely invested in my journey and the crafted steps to my goals. Always there to encourage and inspire.
Fast forward to a year, I’ve lost 45 lbs and health challenges well in control. Needless to say, I feel better carrying less weight, stronger in my core and my on court tennis fitness has exponentially been stepped up.
I can’t thank Shannon enough for being an integral part of my lifestyle change and continuing to inspire me to be a better me” — Peter Gaan
“I know I’ve said this several times, but I am so happy to have found you and your excellent program and coaching approach. I spent a really long portion of my life only being moderately active because of the pain in my leg, and the fact that I can now run for a half hour and it doesn’t even bother me is amazing. Thank you!” — Kellie F
“Thank you so much Shannon! Both Gabrielle and I loved working with you. We were so impressed with your knowledge, how you could apply what you know personally and individually to each of us, your helpful suggestions, I could go on and on. And it was so wonderful of you to donate your time to Cycle the Wave. All in all, it was a lovely experience and your personality and approach made it that way!!!” — Cindy and Gabrielle
“Thanks goes to you. I am so inspired by you. I could never have imagined being able to do even a sprint triathlon without you. At one point in my life I weighed 178 pounds (and not during or after pregnancy) and it is really cool to consider that a distant memory now. To actually enjoy exercise is amazing! Thanks to you for all your flexibility with my schedule, training tips, and encouragement!’ — Candice
“You were fantastic, thank you so much for such an amazing clinic. I loved how you always brought it back to cycling and how it relates! I can’t wait to get started on my program and looking forward to your next event at REI! We so appreciate your generous time and energy you are sharing with us for such a great cause! ” — Sharon, Cycle the Wave Ride Director
“I wanted to thank you for starting me on a beginner’s running schedule. It’s been a few years since you’ve helped me and now I am going to be participating in the Disney 1/2 marathon in January. This will be my first race. I saved the routine you gave me and started with it about a year ago. I was out of shape, fat and miserable . . . Dug out your old instructions and started v e r y s l o w l y . I have lost 20 lbs and I don’t know how many inches. My cholesterol dropped 51 points without medication. I can still see your face and hear your voice encouraging me to just give running a try. Thank you for your patience and perseverance. I have not forgotten your kindness to me. Hope you’re doing well.” — Diane (update 2010 – Diane finished & had a “magical” time!)
“Never knew I could like a person so much who hurts me so badly. 🙂 Loved the Spinathon!” — Debbie
“[My daughter] has decided to attend Biola University and plans to swim for their swim team, doing distance events! She has a growing interest in Urban Studies but may try to double major with Kinesiology [study of human movement]! Thanks for your positive influence in her life!” — Carol
